There are quite a few musical surprises instore for the audience tonight.
It’s yet another sold out show with Ruhan du Toit who has been experiencing huge success with his solo career.
Resident MC Bibi kicks off the programme with “It’s a heartache” followed by Wilha Carstens with his 1st single (released recently by Coleske Artists) “Ek sal jou weer kies”.
The show is mainly the seasoned entertainer Ruhan, joining the ‘LeSi Singing Waiters’ (who usually performs at the LeSi restaurant) to showcase their talent. In my personal opinion this man musically speaking has it all: the ability to produce a show like tonight, no ego in sharing the stage with other talented singers & a voice that can literally harmonize with any other. After a ‘waitress’ offers Ruhan a drink on stage, she (Clarissa) joins him singing “What if I never get over you”, followed by “Simply the Best” with Bibi, and “Fall on me” with Logan (whose musical theatre background shines beautifully).
A young bearded man starts to sing from the back of the theatre. Hercules has, in my opinion one of the best opera voices in SA. He delivers a splendid rendition of “Va Penciero” (from the opera “Nebucco”) with Ruhan also singing a verse in Italian.
My personal favourite duo of the evening was by far “Barcelona” with Ruhan featuring Genelle. Their vocal tour de force is rewarded by a well-deserved standing ovation. They are joined by the full cast for “Achy Breaky Heart” & “Country Roads”, complete with cowboy hats & line dancing moves.
